Submissions for BAICFF 2013 are now being accepted.

Film Submission Categories

  1. Short films for ages 3 and up.
  2. Short films for ages 8 and up.

To submit a film electronically

  1. Complete a 2013 Film Information Form.
  2. Upload a full-length version of the film to yousendit.com (or similar service) and specify in the To: field of the Send a File form.
  3. Send an e-mail to that includes:
  •  A copy of the completed Info Form
  •  Production information (cast, credits, etc.)
  •  Two high-quality .jpgs or .tifs from the film

To submit a film in hard copy

  1. Complete and sign a 2013 Film Information Form.
  2. Mail a full-length preview DVD of the film clearly labeled with the title to:

    Include in the package the signed Info Form and production information (cast, credits, etc.)
  3. E-mail two high-quality .jpgs or .tifs from the film to: .

Eligible Films

  1. Films may be live-action or animated.
  2. All entries not originally in English must be subtitled or dubbed in English
  3. Film content should be creative and demonstrate artistic and technical skill.
  4. Content should speak positively to children of diverse backgrounds and cultures. We look for films that provide strong role models for both boys and girls.
  5. Stories should be culturally authentic, timely, and of universal appeal to young audiences. We especially appreciate plot lines that are child-driven.
  6. Entries to the Festival should be made for, about or by children.
  7. Films should not contain gratuitous violence, nudity, or profanity.
Selection Committee: Jim Capobianco (Pixar Studios), Lisa Fitzgerald (Independent Film Scout), and Shelley Trott (Arts Program Officer, The Kenneth Rainin Foundation) Notification: BAICFF will notify entrants by November 30, 2011, whether films have been selected.

Preview DVDs and support materials cannot be returned to entrant.

A "Children's Choice" award will be given in each shorts category each day, based on an audience vote. Certificates are sent to prizewinning filmmakers.
