PANEL DISCUSSION Megadome Theater 1, Saturday, Feb. 22, 1:45am – 2:45pm Total Runtime: 1 hour |
|
With Cynthia Chin-Lee, Maya Christina Gonzalez, Kate Schatz | 60m |
Three Bay Area children’s authors come together for a fascinating discussion about how books can function as important guideposts for young people as they grow into tomorrow’s creative adults. |
|
Books provide experiential models and emotional insight into the lives of others. This makes books an incredibly valuable medium, as they cultivate a child’s process of self-examination and self-actualization on the road to growing up. And as books demand that readers engage their imaginations, they also promote creative thinking.
These authors will give insight into both their writing process and published works aimed at young audiences. Hear how these modern storytellers aim to use books to inspire kids to think in new ways, to embrace their creativity, and to discover their personal power. The panel will be moderated by Sierra Filucci, Editorial Director for Common Sense Media. |
