Presented by the Walt Disney Family Museum | 60m
Walt Disney knew that audiences adored compelling characters within storytelling. In fact, his earliest works featured characters with strong personalities and unique designs. A distinctive design can help make characters more engaging by giving them a clear visual identity and grounding them in the time and place of the story’s setting. In this workshop, presented in partnership with the Bay Area International Children’s Film Festival, explore character styling by studying designs that center around theme, environment, and time period. Learn how to use proportion, silhouette, and shape language to create your own memorable character.
